Roy presently divides his time between working and writing as a partner in black Dragon moving pictures, inc. and running Woodbridge & Associates, an international business development and policy consulting firm in the environmental field with clients ranging from corporations to governments and United Nations organizations.

A broadly-based executive with senior public and private sector management experience.

An excellent facilitator with strong communication skills and is adept at shaping consensus among diverse interests on strategic directions and policy positions. His results-oriented management style, acquired in part through experience in cross-cultural environments, places a premium on networking and the involvement of people in a common effort.

  • Long engagement in both national and international discussions on sustainable development
  • Written numerous articles and policy papers including his recent book "The Next World War: Tribes, Cities, Nations, and Ecological Decline" (University of Toronto Press, 2004)  which looks at how societies can survive, even thrive, in conditions of global resource scarcity and ecological instability
  • Manages a consulting firm that works with Canadian companies, governments and international organizations to access business opportunities and address policy issues related to the environment.
  • An effective national spokesperson for industry as President of the Canadian Advanced Technology Association and as a Director of the Mining Association of Canada
  • Held management positions in several Departments of the Federal Government where he led the development of policies respecting technology-based competitiveness, natural resource management and environmental protection.
  • Lived and worked in many countries including time spent as Field Representative for CIDA in East Africa managing Canada’s assistance programs
